Dr. Aparna Eswaran is currently an Assistant Professor in the School of International Relations and Politics, MG University, Kottayam. She holds a PhD in Women’s Studies, from Centre for Women’s Studies,JNU where she had combined her research interests in Literature, Gender and International Politics in her PhD thesis on “Women and Witnessing War: Poetry of Tamil Women in Sri Lanka.” She completed her MA in Politics with specialization in International Relations from School of International Studies, and proceeded to finish her M.Phil from the Centre for International Politics, Organization and Disarmament in JNU, New Delhi. Her topic of M.Phil dissertation was ‘International Organization and the Issue area of Regulation of Genetically Modified Organisms’ where she examined the implications of regime complexity on the international regulation of emerging international issues.
She has taught courses in International Relations in the Capital Centre of Central University of Kerala and worked as a researcher in Inter-University Centre for Intellectual Property Rights, CUSAT and in the Women’s Studies Centre, CUSAT. A firm believer in collaborative research, she works on incorporating gender as an analytical category in her research and writing, within both academic and popular realms.
